I'm sorry to bother you about my readings but there are things that deserve reflection. I read a few days ago that José Luis Martínez Almeida, part-time mayor of Madrid, reported that " A large majority of Madrid residents have perceived in Sánchez hostility towards the Community of Madrid " ( madridiario.es in recent days). And after a tense wait, I have not been able to read any reply, comment or confirmation of the result of the supposed opinion poll that Almeida must have done to say that. The prestige of the State lawyers, an opposition that Don José Luis won, must be taken into account to realize the value of his words. Well, no apparent effect of what he said. Several reflections come to mind for me. The first is about Tezanos, the president of the CIS. Imagine what would have happened if that organization, after having carried out the corresponding survey of a representative sample of the Madrid population, had reached the opposite conclusion to what the semi-mayor just said sorry.
Naturally, his imagination, no matter how uncreative it was, allows them to know that Tezanos would have suffered the umpteenth virtual lynching to which he must already be accustomed. But Almeida, without surveys or anything, is able to reach that conclusion. Because? Well precisely because of what he says. Among his people, that, that precisely, is the message that is Australia Phone Number cool. This time it is a mayor from Madrid who makes Sánchez an enemy of the people, but the same could be said by the popular mayor of any of the many Spanish municipalities that they run. The point is to give Sánchez fuel until he speaks Sanskrit, because he does speak English. And it's not that what Almeida says is right or wrong, but maybe he is. The issue is the self-confidence with which he says it, which makes him omit that what is so forceful is nothing more than his opinion, respectable but insufficient to claim to be spokesperson for that great majority to which he refers. And if Almeida cannot resist the comparison with Tezanos, he can even less resist doing so if we talk about Winston Churchill.
Attributed to the great statesman that, when asked about his opinion of the French, he replied by saying that he did not know them all. But Almeida does seem to know all the people of Madrid and, therefore, there is no need to ask them. As if he could know what they think from how they pay their taxes or, perhaps, from the analysis of the garbage that he collects from them every day, Almeida is able to know what Madrid residents think of Sánchez. And that, with the time he dedicates to them after spending part of his busy schedule speaking the slogans of his party, like the usual preachers. Imagine it with a trumpet and you will have the complete image. Something that may justify the lack of gloss on this revelation is that the media is very busy commenting on the second conviction of the Popular Party for corruption and, above all, the abundant statements in this regard by the leaders of that party, starting with its spokesperson, Almeida.
